>I brought you 1 refill and someone else brought your food out. Now you owe me $30
Yeah, that's not happening, ever.

since when is 30% the going rate for tipping anyway? Is this dipshit tryna get a pay raise for all the plate pushers and drunk servers?
Fuck you, lady. Get a real job and let the teenagers deliver pizzas.
Like in the old days.

I don't remember where it was this weekend. But there was an option to tip at a place that isn't a traditional tip place. It was retail but I don't know where. It's absurd.
>I made you a subway sandwich, my literal paid job, tip me bitch!

@Evil_Bender @UnCL3 it’s default for square now, you have to fight to get it removed
My range’s square terminal asks me for a tip on $500 when I pay my annual dues

@sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 >Automatic tipping prompt at POS so the coin clippers can take 3% of the extra.
Very cool
Very cool
@sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 I don’t think it actually is. It’s just a numbers game. More revenue on machine is more perceived value for merchants. Fact is people who use cards spend more, and it’s mostly behavioral finance related. When merchants run their accounting and see they paid 3.1% gross revenue in fees, merchant service providers can talk about the total revenue YOY growth or whatever. Shell game to encourage use for more coin clipping.
This is a Euro take, but IMO restaurants which "suggest" "tips" ought to be google reviewed as if they were letting gypsies into the shop to stand next to your table with their hand out. It's a bad experience.

@cjd @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @BowsacNoodle oh you have no idea man, that’s the default here. All receipts are printed with inflated suggested tip amounts, and some restaurants are moving to forced gratuities for an expanding list of reasons or just for everyone
@sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 I don’t mind if restaurants put e.g. 10, 15, 18, 22% on the bottom of the receipt. It’s unfortunate but as you said— reasons. I do tip small when service is bad to let them know I consciously chose to give less for them giving less. If the server is cool and its restaurant or kitchen issues, I usually give a good or great tip depending on what they deserve and did.
@cjd American tipping culture will not go away especially in under the contractor era we have today, unfortunately.

@BowsacNoodle @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd yeah but you have to realize those numbers are usually tax inclusive so you’re paying 18% tip on your sales tax too
@BowsacNoodle @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd not to mention a percent tip is retarded on its face, a steak does not take more effort to carry to the table than a burger
@sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd I agree with this but I had no say in creating tipping culture rules. I do the $1 per drink at the bar thing unless it’s a fancy cocktail then it’s $2-3 depending on effort required and locale. A hand-mulled margarita is a few minutes of effort and that’s worth an extra dollar to me.
@BowsacNoodle @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd as I said earlier in the thread you’ll get a tip if I want to come back, my drink was never more than half empty, and if I want to slip you the dongus. I’ve relaxed the last one since I have pet zoomer and I have zero interest in other women
@BowsacNoodle @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd oh and no niggers but niggers usually can’t keep a drink topped
@BowsacNoodle @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd @sapphire ill give the dollar if the barkeep is fixing a mixed drink but I'm never gonna tip for simply pulling a pint tbh I don't care how dirty the looks get after #5 or 6
@BowsacNoodle @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd Yall can afford to go to bars?
@poastoak @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd I sometimes have to go for work related reasons. I’m more of a social club guy myself. Cheaper drink, less pretentious, and less riffraff.
@BowsacNoodle @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd I'm more of a tallboy in the gas station parking lot guy tbh
@poastoak @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd I can get a three finger pour of bourbon for $5, which is cheaper than at home price since the clubs get distributor special pricing and sell at cost.
@BowsacNoodle @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd a handle of Evan Williams is $22 and a case of Dr thunder is $6
@poastoak @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd Higher tier than that, like Blantons or one step down. I drink it neat.
@BowsacNoodle @sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd When I was in the Navy and cashing O3 checks I was drinking Woodford neat
@BowsacNoodle @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 @cjd @poastoak I wish blantons was still high tier but it’s all just the same gigacorp as everyone else now
Case of beer in the Publix or Sonic parking lot myself.
classy!
You know it!
My truck isnt squatted btw.
