The only part of this image that has a point is the first line and after that it moves into entitled bullshit. People are defined by how they treat the lowest perceived individuals in their society, and it's jewish to not tip unless you've gotten bad service.

since when is 30% the going rate for tipping anyway? Is this dipshit tryna get a pay raise for all the plate pushers and drunk servers?

Fuck you, lady. Get a real job and let the teenagers deliver pizzas.

Like in the old days.

The problem really is that we're dealing with greed from the business owners the same way the servers are, but the servers seem to be getting greedy themselves and trying to debate this from a position of no leverage in the argument. It's a reason why we should all be pushing for them to be getting paid well enough to want to provide the quality service that deserves a tip in the first place.

I have to say, I'm EXTRA generous to my dispensary guy when I tip him. He's essentially a one man shop, with SUPER decent prices. He's the guy that beats up on the other 2 dispensaries on the same street with pricing and a humble shop. The other ones are done up hippy style and expensive. Gotta keep the Budtender happy...just like in a bar.

How are the biz owners greedy? I mean...they should be a bit greedy it's just business nature.

Totally agree with the last line about quality of service. I mean, I've been around a while, and it USED to be that servers wanted to take care of you so they could earn a good tip. 15% has been the "standard and polite" tip amount forever, unless you got fkd service.

Now they want to treat you poorly and still expect a tip of 30% ?
No. Those people need to re-think their premises, because one (or most) are wrong.

But it's not that type of job. I understand the business stand point. Right now if you were to pay a waiter $15/hr a burger and fries would be $30. Now you lost your customers. Sad truth is its not a career, its a stepping stone. When i see some 50 year old waitress i immediately know she fucked up in life somewhere. The only exception is bartenders.

oh yeah...we are talking about a real server.

Someone who brings your to go order, that you ordered at the register from someone else, to your table after you've waited for however long? Sorry, that's not a "server".
I hear you...especially since other than the local expensive little convenience store/restaurant i'm 10 minutes from, I'm 40 minutes from the next "sit-down" restaurant. Where I tip 15% every time because the food is good and so is the service.

Right, @fknretardlol ? Talking about El Rancho.

I've left some big tips in my day on some stellar wait staff. But your average Applebee's waitress aint a rockstar. It took you 10 minutes to bring 1 draft beer, you didnt ever run the food to the table, when you did show up it was the second my mouth was full so yoi could bail instantly you reeked of cigarettes, my drink sat empty you never checked on us, plates piled up etc. They think they deserve 20% even...... Thats a $5 tip at best

@sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 I don’t think it actually is. It’s just a numbers game. More revenue on machine is more perceived value for merchants. Fact is people who use cards spend more, and it’s mostly behavioral finance related. When merchants run their accounting and see they paid 3.1% gross revenue in fees, merchant service providers can talk about the total revenue YOY growth or whatever. Shell game to encourage use for more coin clipping.
@sapphire @Evil_Bender @UnCL3 I don’t mind if restaurants put e.g. 10, 15, 18, 22% on the bottom of the receipt. It’s unfortunate but as you said— reasons. I do tip small when service is bad to let them know I consciously chose to give less for them giving less. If the server is cool and its restaurant or kitchen issues, I usually give a good or great tip depending on what they deserve and did.

@cjd American tipping culture will not go away especially in under the contractor era we have today, unfortunately.
