Yeah, we will just drop this very popular package in a month, because we are autistic about dropping Qt5 and are removing packages using it.

49@HatkeshiatorTND @Suiseiseki Correct, that's why I'm never using more of that slop than absolutely necessary. The perfect Linux system is one without GNU.
@HatkeshiatorTND @Suiseiseki Couldn't care less about the license. I have sources, I will do whatever I want with them and that's all I care about.
@HatkeshiatorTND @Suiseiseki Again, I can't care less about your GeePeeL autism.
Whats the difference? do you not believe in a one drop rule?
Its nice your getting more moderate ![]()
I find the gnu/mit debate completely absurd, I just publish all code without a drop of legalese and wouldnt listen if I wanted to mix two libs with different licences I just would, whatever. I dont have a horse in the race, I just like the vitalism of anger and open extremism.
@HatkeshiatorTND @phnt @Suiseiseki You don't need GNU userland for Linux though. Do you think Google does that?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toybox
@Suiseiseki @HatkeshiatorTND @phnt toybox is a clone of busybox. Ubuntu is moving to uutils for some reason which is MIT licensed. Many illumos distros have gnu stuff in the userland, but illumos-gate is the old Solaris 10 userland under CDDL. BSD is BSD and they reject anything GPL after V3.
@Suiseiseki @HatkeshiatorTND @phnt >BSD projects regard all GPL versions as equally unwanted, as their proprietary masters can't take such software, make it proprietary and use it against them.
Actually no, I know for a fact that FreeBSD and OpenBSD still used GCC 4.2.1.

https://www.cambus.net/the-state-of-toolchains-in-openbsd/
NetBSD doesn't care. They use newer GCC.
@sendpaws @HatkeshiatorTND @Suiseiseki
They use newer GCC
They still use GeePeeLv2 GCC for the system. There is a build.sh option to build everything with LLVM though.
@Suiseiseki @HatkeshiatorTND @sendpaws You don't know what self hosting compiler means.
@Suiseiseki @HatkeshiatorTND @menherahair @sendpaws You only need a compiler from 20 years ago. Amazing win.
@Suiseiseki @phnt
>install it
>nothing fucking works except some hardware from 2006
All this shit reminds me of the Kosher Switch, it's a switch but it's kosher and doesn't work half the time.
@sendpaws @Suiseiseki Do you have the cc, c89 and c98 wrappers? My guess is not, because building those is disabled by default on CRUX. Lack of these wrappers breaks certain build systems and is a POSIX requirement (for cc).
@Suiseiseki @phnt So, how's Wi-Fi?
Framebuffer mode? Sir, this is not a SPARCStation 10 with a TurboGX, this is 2026 and I want 3d to work. I'm not Orthodox and I don't need a wire to go outside, why should I trip my PC in similar fashion?
